After applying online, I had an initial phone screen with the recruiter. The interview was a basic behavioral interview. During this round, the recruiter didn't have a lot of information about the role because, as they said themselves, they had been too sick to make the meeting with the hiring manager where they would have gotten this information.
From there, I was invited to the next round to speak with the hiring manager. Two days before this interview, I lost my voice due to illness and emailed the recruiter about the possibility of rescheduling. In response to my question, the recruiter cancelled my interview and told me I was no longer under consideration for the role. I responded within 15 minutes to say I could do the interview as originally scheduled if it was my only opportunity. The recruiter replied that my time slot was already booked over and no other times would be made available.
Taken as a whole, Zinnia employees have no problem with poor performance when they are sick. However, if you even ask for an accommodation, they'll give you the boot without a second thought. This is the sign of an extremely toxic, disrespectful, and unprofessional company, and if this review wasn't warning enough, take a look at some of the other Glassdoor reviews for Zinnia and SE2, LLC (their previous name) for more of the same.
One last thing, I expressed my disappointment with the interview process to the recruiter and hiring manager over a week before submitting this review. They never responded, so if someone from the company writes a blurb below mine saying how they value and act upon this kind of feedback, rest assured they don’t!
