I had three interviews. The first felt as though it went very well, an in person interview with behavioral based questions; three weeks later I recieved a call from the recruiter to let me know that they went with an internal candidate, but they would like me to interview for another team in the same role.
The second interview was more like an informal meeting with a more senior manager who reviewed the details of the role, the footprint of the company, and asked me for my salary requirements and hours I'd like to work. There were no standard interview questions. She said that she would ultimately like to speak with the manager I'd be working for to get his thoughts, and that he may want to speak with me and a few others before making a final decision.
The third interview came two weeks later and was over the phone with the senior manager that I had previously spoke to and the manager she spoke of. He asked me to go through my background and explain my familiarity with some of the systems/programs used. His final question to me was whether I preferred to work on my own or in a team setting. I advised that I currently work on my own, very much independently, and miss a team atmosphere; the interview went cold and ended very abrublty there. Seems it wouldn't have been a good fit on either end. The denial email came exactly two weeks later.
