The manager of the department had only been on the job for less than 1 year. He was promoted internally and understood the loan products very well. When asked about leadership and how they lead people, they did not give an answer because they were new to leadership. This was an immediate red flag for me. The recruiter was looking to schedule a second interview with me after the first interview but their compensation was well below market. I was making more than the max they could offer for the same role.
