I applied and received a call a couple of weeks later from the senior area business manager. We did a short phone interview sort of outlining the position and going over my qualifications and resume. We discussed salary in part to make sure we were on the same page. This wasn't much of an interview, more of a, "let's see if we want to move forward" kind of call. We decided to move forward and I received an e-mail from HR with forms to fill out and an e-mail from the manager to set up my itinerary to fly out to Las Vegas and interview in-person. I flew out two weeks later and met the manager in the lobby of a hotel. He took me to a hotel room where there were two other interviewers (suits and ties) and I sat down and the interview began. It was pretty straightforward...normal things you might be asked for a sales position. Some that I can remember: What's your favorite Zoetis product and why? How would you detail to a veterinarian versus a technician? How do you feel about having a non-structured schedule and changing tasks depending on the needs of customers? How would you combat pricing complaints? Do you currently speak mostly with veterinarians or managers or technicians? Why do you want to work at Zoetis? Are you willing to relocate?
I found the process of flying and taking a day off of work to do so to be a little stressful...and the panel of interviewers (3 men in their 40's-50's) to be somewhat intimidating. But overall it was a pleasant experience.
I called a week later knowing they were going to be interviewing through the week's end and left a message for the hiring manager. Later that afternoon I received a letter via e-mail thanking me for interviewing but telling me they went with another candidate.
