      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Zoetis (Seattle, WA) in Jan 2025

      Interview

I had an initial phone screening for a position with a Zoetis recruiter and was informed that I would receive follow-up communication after my resume was reviewed by the hiring manager. Despite following up twice with the recruiter, I did not receive any further communication or acknowledgment regarding my candidacy. As a former veterinary practice manager, I understand the importance of clear communication in the hiring process. It’s a best practice to keep candidates informed, even when the decision is to move forward with another candidate to maintain positive relationships for future opportunities. So, I was surprised by the lack of communication in this case. Prior to the phone screening, I did come across reviews from other candidates mentioning that Zoetis may ghost candidates. Unfortunately, I experienced this myself. I have never been ghosted by a recruiter or hiring manager before, and I was surprised and confused that this actually happened to me. Additionally, the corporation I previously worked for is partnered with Zoetis, and uses their products exclusively in every hospital. I am very familiar with their vaccines and medications, and I felt that my education, experience, and skills aligned well with the job description. This left me confused and disappointed by the lack of closure regarding my application. As someone working in a company that is partnered with Zoeties, and regularly sells and promotes Zoetis products to clients, I had hoped for better communication. Even if it was just an automated response like “thank you for your interest, but we have decided to move forward with another candidate.” Overall, I believe that all candidates deserve to be notified if they are no longer being considered for a role, regardless of the outcome.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The recruiter phone screen was around 10 minutes. I was asked why I'm interested in zoetis, why I'm leaving my current role, why I'm interested in pursuing a career in sales. The rest of the conversation was the recruiter explaining the role, the perks of the job, the benefits, and the next steps in the interview process. The conversation ended by asking if this position still interests me. I said yes, and then said they would reach out to me after the hiring manager reviewed my resume.
