I received an initial interview invite from recruiter Landon. He seemed very pleasant and flexible. I scheduled a time as well as had a very pleasant email exchange with him. Landon seemed extremely personable and convincing.
Landon and I spent about 45 minutes on a call where he painted an amazing picture of Zoom. He went over numbers with me as well as explained the hiring process. We connected on a level that made me want to work for Zoom. Landon continued to tell me I have much of what Zoom is looking for...including my management style. Again, seemed very exciting and promising.
A day or so later, I received an invite to interview with two others. Landon made himself available and promised to help me through the entire process. By that point, I was blown away by how great everything was going despite multiple hours invested at that point. Landon told me he would reach out right after my next interview to touch base, provide feedback, and discuss the next steps. Great, Landon is on top of it!
My next interview with the hiring managers went really well. Both individuals were great to talk with and asked applicable questions. Based on my expertise and current role, I felt confident with my responses.
I reached out to Landon via email right after the interview with an update that both individuals seemed really great and it was a very enjoyable experience....crickets.....and more crickets....and more crickets.
I waited till the following week and reached out to Landon again....and nothing. Not even an acknowledgement of my email and that he would get back at a later date.
This all seemed incredibly odd as Landon was always responsive. In addition, he worked his butt off to convince me Zoom was the place for me.
I followed up one last time (3 times total) just looking for a simple update or feedback and he ghosted me again. Where is the respect? Why ghost me? Where is the decency? I truly hope others at Zoom don't follow this horrible practice.
