      Firmware Internship Interview

      Dec 18, 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Zoox in Nov 2020

      Interview

Process took around 1.5 months starting from code screening test to receiving an offer. taking the following steps: - a 120 minute online code test - phone screening - 2x 1-hour code interviews with firmware engineers - final interview with firmware manager Overall, process was very enjoyable and pretty stress-free. Everybody was super friendly and were happy to answer any questions I had. Being new to the pressure of coding interviews I made plenty of synatx errors and 'stupid' mistakes, which they pointed out without being harsh. The scope of coding interviews was implementing commonly found data structures and algorithms in embedded systems, then writing test cases for the code you write. This usually took up the first ~45 minutes, and was followed by more conceptual questions for ~15 minutes.
