I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Zscaler (Amsterdam) in Jan 2019
Interview
My first contact was with a recruiter who contacted me over LinkedIn. The job description was complete and showed a good preparation. I decided to reach out and asked the recruiter to give me a call. During the call I asked some high level questions to better understand the day to day activities for the position. Again, the recruiter came over well prepared. After this call we had a second call which was more in debt regarding my work experience and if i was indeed a good fit for the position. The call was a plessant and open discussion which let to another call with the hiring manager. The hiring manager asked very in-debt technical questions to get an understanding if my working experience was enough. This open discussion let to a few more call (per my request) and finally to a panel interview. The panel interview was a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager and a remote panel team. During this interview we simulated an actual customer meeting. Even though there was a little unannounced switch in attendees, everyone was well prepared. The panel interview was a succes and was the last part of the hiring proces.
A few key elements that let me to accept the offer;
- realistic, during the interview we tried to fit in the panel interview on a day and a half notice. When I got the preparation materials, I realised the short notice was unrealistic to properly prepare and asked to reschedule. Which we did.
- open, they explained me, not only the good things about the job, but also the risks. All conversations were open discussion where I could ask anything.
- flexibel, I had doubts regarding always working from home. They discussed this and offered me a desk at the office where I could also work.
