Interview
A recruiter reached out and asked me to enter availability for an interview. I obliged. After several rejections of availability from the recruiter, they just said my availability did not work for them and asked me to schedule the following week. I, again, entered availability. After being told my availability still did not align, the recruiter told me they were taking a short week due to it being their birthday. I then entered availability for the following week and we got a time to meet on the schedule. 30 minutes before the interview, the recruiter told me they had a “slight pet emergency” and needed to cancel the interview. Frustrated, but understanding, I suggested more availability for the following week and we got a new connection on the calendar. 6 minutes before we were scheduled to meet, the recruiter emails to tell me the hiring manager is no longer accepting applications. Incredible waste of time and preparation.

Everyone I talked to was smart and friendly, and was able to present the value of the company and the department with honest enthusiasm and clarity. It really showed that each of them is happy and fulfilled in their job. That makes all the difference.
