The recruiter reached out after I was referred, then didn't respond after 4 weeks (and reaching out once a week between then). After finally having the phone screen, was asked to give availabilities to speak with the hiring manager. Again, no response for two weeks. When I finally was responded to, it was in reference to another position that I hadn't applied for. I asked the recruiter to confirm that the position I applied for was the one I was being interviewed for, and was only then informed that the role I applied for was removed, and that a junior position was the only one available. And even though I pulled my application, I just found out that they reached out to speak references that I hadn't even provided them, without my or my contacts' permission or knowledge. I would recommend reading the company reviews. I've since spoken to a few people who left the company and they agree that Zymergen's HR and company management are exactly as described in the reviews (and that people in the company were encouraged to leave positive reviews to balance out the negative ones).
