I was consistently asked my opinion of an existing employee (and a former coworker) and when I stated I had nothing negative to say I was told he wanted to find out if I had a backbone or not.

They are very focussed on their company culture...do research to their values
Very few relevant questions were asked. They were not at all prepared to conduct an interview.
They asked situational questions....all of the "describe a situation when X happened, what was your solution, what was the outcome", etc.
