My first call with HR was fine, but the second interview was terrible. The interviewer showed up late and had an arrogant attitude, asking random, imaginary questions that had nothing to do with technical skills or real knowledge. It felt like he was more interested in testing my passion in some “clever” way rather than assessing my actual abilities. A few days later, I got the rejection email. Honestly, I feel bad for Mistral AI’s founders. I hope they realize that letting inexperienced people handle interviews can hurt their chances of building a truly great team. I’ve interviewed with Google, Microsoft, and other top-tier teams before, and I’ve never seen such a poorly conducted and wasted interview experience.
