You do one interview online. Mine was with two people via Zoom. Then you do an in-person interview where they will fly you in if needed and it is with one person and you get a tour of the office.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at alliantgroup, LP (Houston, TX) in May 2016

      Interview

I applied to the job on LinkedIn through an external recruiter. I was called a few weeks later to schedule and in-person pre-screening with the recruiter. Soon after, I met with an HR Representitive from AlliantGroup. I was told by others they sometimes do a phone interview before bringing you into the office. After leaving that day, the HR rep sent me a personality assessment to complete online. A few days after that, I had another interview with a hiring manager who was very friendly. About a week after that, I was invited back for yet another interview with various people. Immediately after, I was called to schedule a job shadow for the following week. The job shadow was informal and gave a great view into the day-to-day life of someone in the position you're interviewing for. I was also able to ask any last questions I didn't have answered in the interviews. A few days after the job shadowing, I was called and offered a job. The process was long and took about a month, but worth it in the end. Throughout the process, one of the managers that interviewed me informed me that their selection process is tedious; for about every 10 resumes they receive, they contact 1 person, then from every 10 of those contacted, only 1 person makes it to the next level, and so on. Don't believe everything you read on here. I was scared at first after reading the reviews, but I made it the whole way through the process and am happy I didn't let glassdoor scare me. If you're serious about starting your career in this type of field, or are at least strongly interested in it, you'll be fine.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at alliantgroup, LP (Houston, TX) in Oct 2024

      Interview

The interview process is pretty average they're going to ask why do you feel you should get hired and what is something you didn't like about last your job. I had plenty of questions for them especially after reading all of the terrible reviews online, I wanted to assure any insecurities I had about the role and the company. I was hoping they could reassure me with their answers. They did the opposite and I was glad. I asked them how do they balance work and regular life since it was emphasized that the hours were long. Since they kept emphasizing that as a new hire I would be expected to stay even later to ensure I understood the material (which is not a problem for me) I asked out of curiosity what's the latest they had ever worked. They both gave me very late times and tried to ensure that this was a one-off (contrary to what many reviews state). After the interview, I was informed that I interview well and I would be great for the role but it was obvious that I had an issue with the hours. So if you're desperate for a job, don't mention the hours or ask about it. They're going to know you aren't green.
