I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at alliantgroup, LP (Houston, TX) in Oct 2016
Interview
I had one interview over the phone, followed by a Skype interview where I was immediately asked to come in for their hiring event in Houston- a meet and greet with various employees as we get called out one by one to interview with two Directors. At first the meet and greet was great, they treated all the candidates like high class individuals. Once I went into the interview the two directors had very "A Type" personalities. They both had this attitude of "Thank me for being here to interview you and acknowledge how great we are". They were both young and didn't come off to have a lot of interview experience. One of the Directors was just slouched back in his seat and acted very bored and tired of being at the office- this was even before they began asking any real interview questions. Most of the questions were fairly straight forward typical interview questions, pretty easy for the most part. Then one director asked "Why do you want to leave ______ City? Is it that god awful of a place?" This came off to me as immature to ask in an interview. I don't think trying to bait someone into talking bad about a place they are leaving leave or work at is very professional at all.
As soon as the interview process with all the candidates was completed, one director walked into the main room everyone was in and told the candidates "Ok y'all can leave now, we're done". They went from treating the candidates like potential new success for the company to please leave so we can go home already.
I never received a call or email from the managers or directors about my interview status (weird since it was the final round and only a handful interviewed). I reached out via email but had no response. I found out over linked that another candidate was chosen, a few weeks after the interviews took place.
Overall the initial experience was great, speaking with the employees working there was great- they were all very welcoming. A couple directors managing the event and conducting the interviews acted in my opinion unprofessional and expecting of people to brown nose.
