Interview
I heard of some other interviewee's processes looking a little different, but most of us went through the same process. It starts with a phone interview or "screening" that took about 10-15 minutes. It mostly seemed like a gauge of interest and a information session. Second was a webcam interview. A little more in depth and more of a typical interview, but very much related to the position and not just random pointless questions. The final step, for me, was a "mix & mingle" recruiting event. About 35 candidates were invited to the office, all travel coordinated and paid for, and we were able to talk to a bunch of different employees in several different positions. Then, at some point during the 2 hour event, you'd be pulled away for the final formal interview. It was 2 interviewers and myself. The interview was very much focused on my experiences and the core values of the company. It was conversational and relaxed, but they definitely managed to work in some difficult questions. Finally, I received a call the NEXT day asking to set up a call for the following day regarding my "next steps" at the company--which ended up being an offer. Overall, I loved the process. I got to meet a variety of employees and EVERY person I interacted with was so welcoming and helpful and classy.

Question 1
How do you handle feedback/how do you prefer receiving it? (Transparency is one of the core values and they really stress the importance of it in the workplace)
You do one interview online. Mine was with two people via Zoom. Then you do an in-person interview where they will fly you in if needed and it is with one person and you get a tour of the office.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at alliantgroup, LP (Houston, TX) in Oct 2024
Interview
The interview process is pretty average they're going to ask why do you feel you should get hired and what is something you didn't like about last your job. I had plenty of questions for them especially after reading all of the terrible reviews online, I wanted to assure any insecurities I had about the role and the company. I was hoping they could reassure me with their answers. They did the opposite and I was glad. I asked them how do they balance work and regular life since it was emphasized that the hours were long. Since they kept emphasizing that as a new hire I would be expected to stay even later to ensure I understood the material (which is not a problem for me) I asked out of curiosity what's the latest they had ever worked. They both gave me very late times and tried to ensure that this was a one-off (contrary to what many reviews state). After the interview, I was informed that I interview well and I would be great for the role but it was obvious that I had an issue with the hours. So if you're desperate for a job, don't mention the hours or ask about it. They're going to know you aren't green.
