Thus far I have participated in an exploratory interview for senior level position. The Recruiter was pleasant and professional. We met for about 45 minutes and I was asked to provide references. About 5 days after submitting references, I received a note that she would begin to check them in a few days. I was advised during the interview that the process would take about 2 weeks and another interview would be scheduled after the references were checked. She also provided information on the corporate culture. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the Recruiter's professionalism and candor after reading such negative reviews.
