I was reached out to by a company recruiter for the role. Prior to the interview, I had read some alarming things about the company's culture, describing it as "cult-like." I had also read about the IRS raid on the firm (Summer of 2022), which I wanted to ask about because I have not heard of this happening to a company before. When I asked about the executive response to the raid, the interviewer became very defensive, asserting that I was implying that leadership was treating staff unfairly. This was not my intention, but It was a simple misunderstanding that I tried to rectify saying that I did not want to make any assertions, I just wanted to know what life was like for employees after they were removed from the building by IRS officers. The rest of the interview was very uncomfortable, and, needless to say, I was not offered another interview. The dissatisfaction was mutual.
