Everything went well with the introduction until I said the word Harmon department. This picked the district manager's interest and he asked me how do I know what a Harmon department is since they don't advertise that name anywhere. This was before the current hanging signs with the name Harmon clearly visible in the department telling what products are in each aisle. My mistake was that instead of telling the district manager that the store manager said he was still in the Harmon department, I told him that I had interviewed with Bed Bath and Beyond before. This brought the interview process to an abrupt end. He was probably thinking if BB&B didn't hire me, why should he hire me. I knew it immediately after the BB&B word left my mouth too, and I tried my best to salvage the interview but the damage had already been done. I should have just stated what happens that day in that store, through the information relayed to me by the store manager, instead of what may have happened prior to that interview.
I never gave them a chance to ask me a question. It is obvious from all the other interview feedback is that the biggest question that I would have been asked would be "How would you like a position that you did not apply for?" (Of course a position much lower than they advertised for to get applicant flow)
