It was like any other retail interview but the sales point of the position was heavily discussed. She told me about the membership card & magazine trial sales. they weigh heavy for store percentage & even the employee. She asked many questions about my insurance sales experience & asked me to compare that to how I could use it there. That seems to be the make or break point for who they hire. The hiring process took longer due to the background check. I was brought back for hiring paper work in a couple days but the background check didn't come back for another 3 weeks. I couldn't work until then.
Unexpected was how aggressively they want you to sell their membership cards. They asked me to give an example of how I would sell the card with no prior knowledge. Then I was shown how they sell the cards and their pitch made me feel very uncomfortable
If I was unable to provide a large number of discount card sales was I ok with not getting hours.
