My profile was added to a smartrecruiters portal which looked professional and suggested it was going to be a smooth, well managed process. Unfortunately that is where the positive experience ended. Prior to the interview, the recruiter wouldn't answer calls, speaking only via email. During the email exchanges they repeatedly missed off answering basic questions that related to the role. When asked directly, they just ignored the email.
The video call interview was a pleasant experience, the interviewers seemed nice and the questions sensible and relevant. It has however now been several months since and there has been zero feedback, the portal still showing the application as active (so first appearances were clearly deceiving), there was no follow-up whatsoever.
Overall it was a negative experience due to the lack of recruitment professionalism shown. It puts the company in a very poor light.
I consider it rude and ineffective to simply ignore candidates questions when they are researching to see if a role is suitable and extremely discourteous to not provide any form of response having taken the time and effort both to prepare and attend the interview.
