Since this is the federal BTA position, the cases were both government. It really helps to understand how a government agency is different from a private company--incentive structures, income and budgeting, leadership etc. Being able to identify these unique challenges in the SDLC case will set you apart.
Not really. The interviewer was adamant to explain 'Class' in layman terms which was quite tricky to explain to him
How to gather requirements?
Your case could be anything, but they put good examples online at their website. Use these to practice, they are similar to what you will do in the interview. The interviewer will work with you through all of the answers, and they want to see your creativity and structure of thinking. There were a few things I missed on first glance, but when I recovered and brought new things to the table, they were impressed.
