Was emailed out of the blue before I flew out to SF with a question about how I would handle an operational issue with a venue that they were servicing. No headsup or anything and I ended up writing a pretty detailed email response - didn't hear anything more about it until later but apparently I hit all the points. I would find out later that it was a scenario they were working through right then and there and wanted to see how I would have responded.
The questions they asked were all very standard. They did throw some technical curveballs I wasn't expecting, so familiarity with current plans, current development around the city, and the zoning code is helpful.
