Why do you want to work at Square?
The recruiter was friendly and communicative in the beginning. This is always a plus. The first interview what the two attorneys was a bit strange. They ask me questions that would typically be reserved for your business partner, I walked away a bit perplexed. The second phone interview with the hiring attorney consisted of a mock negotiation of a redlined contract. Was more of a way to test your creativity, reasoning, and drafting skills. The hiring attorney ask to provide a post call draft. While I was very interested in the company, I thought this was a bit much considering I have a full-time job as a Corporate Counsel. However, I still made it to an onsite. During the onsite, one of the lawyers seemed completely disinterested and the hiring manger just grilled me with questions for about an hour. Even after all the time spent, the most disappointing part was the recruiter did not send me a follow up email. Instead, 3-4 weeks later I received a generic email.
