It positioned the role as a strategic, partner-facing opportunity focused on driving revenue and supporting integrations. Based on that, I felt confident my background aligned well. However, during the interview process, there was a stronger emphasis on technical depth and hands-on API execution than what the job post suggested. The original role appeared more commercially focused with technical collaboration, not direct ownership of integrations. Candidates should consider asking early on how much of the role involves technical execution versus partner strategy, sales enablement, and ecosystem development.
