eHealth Data Scientist interview questions

The process was somewhere between standard and a little helter skelter. The recruiter didn't seem to have a lot of experience hiring for technical positions and couldn't answer many questions. That aside there were multiple phases: 1. 48 hour take-home 2. Technical phone screen with a data scientist (coding and modeling) 3. Another phone screen with the hiring manager 4. Onsite #1 5. Onsite #2 That I had two screens for both phone and on-site was a bit strange, but fine. Everything up to the on-sites was very normal, but my interviews on-site seemed to be with people who I would work with, but who themselves were not very familiar with data science and therefore not particularly technical.

I was excited to interview with eHealth, as it seemed like an extremely exciting opportunity to work for such a big and growing company. However, I had a horrible interviewing experience due to my interviewer in Bay Area, California. She was extremely unprofessional and rude throughout the entire phone call. She first started off the interview by shaming eHealth's HR, stating that because they were so "unorganized and slow", she had to ask me all the "basic [logistical] questions" prior to the "actual" interview regarding the role I was applying for and my experience. Additionally, she was quite rude when asking me questions regarding my background. To clarify a bit more, the level of detail of the questions asked were completely appropriate as it made sense that an interviewer would want to make sure if an applicant was truly qualified by asking more specific follow up questions. However, whenever I honestly stated that there was something I was unsure of, or simply did not know, she would respond in a condescending tone, one of disbelief, disgust and annoyance. Perhaps she was not having a great day, but she seemed pretty impatient and was very unprofessional. Additionally, she did not seem prepared to interview me, as she had long pauses between questions, followed by blurting out, "Ugh sorry, I'm just so tired today". She had no real command over the conversation, as I was the one who had to ask if the interview was over, etc. Because of her rude and negative tone, she created an extremely unpleasant and uncomfortable interviewing process for me, and it does not seem like she supports or represents eHealth well.
