How to tell is a child was developing school readiness skills.
My response was keeping the kids on a daily well timed out schedule. Having a daily routine will help prevent outburst or difficulty with transitions, because the kids will know what to expect. I also said setting a timer for each activity. If a timer is set it will help the teacher in the room keep track of time. I’d then give two announcements one 10 minutes, and another 5 minutes prior to transition time. With stability in the classroom it helps to prevent those outburst. Still kids have bad days just like adults and if I ran into an issue I’d try different methods to help create a safe space for the child to calm down. If I feel like Ive exhausted all my options I’d reach out to either management or other staff to help get the situation under control. Every kid is different and what works for some may not work for others
