The job application asks for the applicant to attest to an immigration or citizenship status as a required field. During the interview process, an employer is only allowed to ask the candidate if they are legally allowed to work in the USA, or whether the candidate needs sponsorship. The phone screen was brief and was also double booked with another candidate, which meant that my time was rescheduled on short notice. During my phone screen, the recruiter had trouble with their phone and dropped after 5-10 minutes when the rescheduled interview happened. The call was scheduled as a 30 minute interview. I was not accommodated nor given a fair chance. I feel that based on the required fields supplied for the job application, that I was discriminated against.
