The first two rounds were fairly straight forward - first with the HR team member, the second with a peer of the job opening. I was also asked to put together a response to a hypothetical scenario. Eventually I was invited for an in person interview, which involved traveling at my own expense (which was fine). The day before the interview, a huge snowstorm was predicted, which forced the interview to be rescheduled to three days later. The day after the interview was rescheduled, I received an email saying the position had been filled. This seemed completely absurd to me, and tells me that a: I was never considered to be a serious candidate, or b: they were in a rush to fill the position and didn't want to deal with the hassle of coordinating with an out of state candidate. ezCater needs to realize that their prospective candidates need to be treated as external customers. In this instance, they failed.
