The interviewer asked how many people it would take to reach from New York to LA. The question was meant to test the way applicants think through a problem (hopefully logically), so if you have practiced answering this type of question, you should be able to think of a way to answer on the spot.
If I gave you X project with no direction before I left for a week and expected you to have it completed upon my return, how would you go about it?
If the warden was taken hostage and he gave in order would you follow that order. If you know someone is doing something they are not suppose to do you report it or look the other way? There is a altercation between the natives and the Hispanics about watching two different tv channels what do you do?
When asked about myself. I had difficulty understanding that I needed to explain why I was a great fit or rather what qualities I had that would be beneficial to the university.
Have you taken any classes that pertain directly to federal policy, or better yet, environmental policy?
I honestly did not have any unexpected, or difficult questions to answer as the team knew their field, and their college, and asked questions that pertained to the professional atmosphere, collegiality, and showed complete respect for students and employees. I honestly have never had unexpected questions in this college atmosphere - but only had 2 interviews in 30 years.
None were given. This interview occurred in a series of conversations.
Why do you want to work here?
They will literally just ask you questions to see if you're competent enough. Again, they don't actually care about hiring quality people, they just care about hiring bodies.
