The question that surprised me most was "what makes you happiest when doing your job?" It was refreshing and gave me a glimpse into the family-feel of the company.

The interview was laid out as a tell me about your experience starting at such and such organization. I Briefly described each position, and what my responsibilities were there.
The main problem, in my view, was that the top management didn't have a strategy, and wasn't prepared for the initial difficulties that we found. Africa is not easy for westerns ... a simple bank operation (paying salaries for instance) could take all day. Also the government is corrupt and we needed to pay for everything and to everyone. Anyway, back to top, the management was adrift and didn't stick with the initial plan. Instead of doing the mining, they decided to loan the machines, and that, for me, was a big mistake.
How do you feel you can change the current business processes at this organization?
