Must maintain full-time status to maintain TA status. There were no interview questions, I was hired solely because of my status as grad student and 2+ years of nursing experience. Because of the lax requirements for becoming a TA, many graduate teaching assistants were severely unfit for their teaching roles.

On the 2nd year interview, the tough question she asked: Given that I would be teaching multiple sections, I wouldn't be able to spend an exorbitant amount of time critiquing one student's essay. How would I balance giving effective feedback with the fact that I had 30 student papers to grade. (She said my response to the student was spot-on, but it was long. I remember trying super hard on it to at least show that I knew what the student's problem was.)
