Do you know the pay rates per shift?
Its been so long I dont really rememeber any of the questions, but from what I remember they were all pretty basic. They basically want to know that youre competent and going to be a hard worker. Ability to lift heavy packeages will also obviously come up.
I was very well impressed by theit proactivity until I understood that one of the main requisite for the candidate was to be able to start in 2 weeks (regardless of the notice period). After I clearly stated that I needed at least 3 weeks I received a call from an HR intern (none of the three people that joined the selection) telling me that they finally chose another candidate. I'm not assuming that I was excluded for this reason, but simply saying that that it's a bit unfair to ask the candidate to be ready to leave its job in 2 weeks no matter what when the salary or contract issues have not even been discussed. In this way it's easy for the candidate to jump to the conclusion that he/she is less appealing just because he/she's not unemployed and ready to start tomorrow.
During the interview she basically just wanted to know about my previous jobs - what made me apply at UPS? And things like that.
None. Depending on the HR rep you get, they might toss in "Why do you want to work for UPS" or "What does safety mean to you?", but they really use the 40 day work period as the interview. The hard part is getting a call back.
Learning their five key to lifting and lowering .
There weren't many questions. They did most of the talking.
Pretty basic why UPS? Nothing difficult
There were no difficult or unexpected questions. It was a straight forward and simple.
