Terrible interview expectations for interns. Expects interns to come in with 5+ years of relevant work experience beforehand. Interview questions were phrased very narrow yet vague. Therefore, giving you very little room to talk about your experiences since it has to be super specific to the question prompted, eventhough everyones experiences are different and nuanced and never exactly one-to-one as asked during the interview.
I applied for an internship looking for experiences and hoping to put my best foot forward towards doing a good job. Instead, I felt belittled after the interview, with the interviewers saying things like, "The things you are doing are very academic and we are looking for something more corporate." The comment felt very dismissive and I'm sorry, I thought I was applying for an internship and not a senior engineering role? Internships are one of the many paths to bridge between your academic experiences to industry.
Programming everywhere is the same, just like math, 1+1 will always be 2 almost anywhere.
Truly another one of those companies that gets involved in the common catch-22 situation of you needing internship to get experience but the internship also demands you have experience.
