      ACES Lending Officer Interview

      Dec 18, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Plano, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at loanDepot (Plano, TX) in Sep 2017

      Interview

Phone interview, followed by an in-person interview with the recruiter. I didn't know it was a group interview, as there was another person he was interviewing simultaneously. The recruiter was friendly, asked some basic questions (how do you handle pressure, what are your goals, etc.). He also spent quite a bit of time talking about his background. I would say the interview lasted about 1 hr and 15 minutes. Next step was an invite to another group interview with the VP/ Hiring Manager. This interview was WEIRD as hell! It was like 10-12 candidates sitting in a conference room, and it felt like a game show or being on The Apprentice. The VP is an ex-drill sergeant, and he definitely had the persona of one. He did A LOT of yelling, cursing and there were numerous "F" words thrown around (along with every other curse word you can think of). He talked a whole lot - gave a lecture of what type of individual he's looking for, etc He asked each person 3 questions each... easy questions, but it was definitely an out of this world experience. It was an extremely intense environment to say the least!

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at loanDepot (Scottsdale, AZ)

      Interview

Group interview. Luckily, I was 5th of 6th to answer the questions. They also had follow up questions . Overall, it was a laid back interview. To others, it would be perceived as intense. But, they want to see how you react under pressure. They want you to show your personality. It was easy for me because I’m naturally extroverted. They try and sell you a dream at the end of the interview. Stating people out the program are averaging 150k a year. It was flattering.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at loanDepot (Lake Forest, CA) in Dec 2020

      Interview

The interview process was extremely fast and streamlined. I was referred by a current employee and spoke with a recruiter. After my initial call with the recruiter, I was scheduled for a group interview. The management team went through the same questions with each person on the panel during the interview, then expanded to ask more specific questions regarding experience and resume items with each person. The group interview lasted about an hour and I was offered the position within an hour of the interview.
