I attended the job fair given by loanDepot last night. I went expecting the usual assembly line like process many companies favor for these events, but I was pleasantly surprised right from start. I was greeted outside the front door by an eager and friendly Lindsay Bodey. She took me by the arm and proceeded to introduce me to managers and executives who were equally friendly and eager to speak with me. It didn’t stop there. After discussing opportunities with one manager/exec, they would walk me over to personally introduce me to others who might also have an interest in me. It was definitely a comfortable, low stress process for meeting prospective employers. Not once did I feel like I was lost in the crowd. I was amazed to see many EVPs - even the CEO - mingling with job seekers. Casey Horton spoke with me at length about the company culture and its importance to upper management. Tara Furiani provided a concise company overview besides making me feel very welcome. Shawna Ford shared her opinion and personal experiences with the company. All of these conversations were, I felt, true expressions of their positive opinions of the company. I had many other similar conversations too numerous to mention here. I look forward with great anticipation to follow up interviews with loanDepot and, hopefully, to be working there in the near future.
