I was only asked to talk about myself and my past experience. After being told that I'd be a good fit for the position, I was informed that the company is "old school military" and ponytails weren't allowed. I then asked for clarification as was told that the real issue is that my particular hairstyle: dreadlocs was the actual issue here. I was told that he didn't like the policy because it made it much more difficult to find the best talent in SC but there was nothing he could do. He essentially told that I couldn't work for TMC doing cold calls by phone because of my traditionally black hairstyle. My follow up question was: "Is there any reason you wouldn't be able to move forward with me?" He gave me a solid "no." I told the GM I'd think about the proposition. A week later: I was informed that they went with another candidate only to receive an email about an open position for the same role at the same company 2 weeks later...
