Management Analyst Interviews

Management Analyst Interview Questions

"Businesses depend on their management analysts to utilize their skills in data analysis and communication to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the firm. During an interview, expect to be asked a few brain teasers, as well as provide your opinion in a provided scenario through your analysis of the situation. As you will likely be working in a team, you may have to speak to how you work in a team and ensure that others are doing their fair share. Be sure to research the company and familiarize yourself with their competitors, their operations, and what factors or politics affect their business."

Case interviews were very straight forward. Much easier than what you would expect from MBB. But they made you think. One was a Mergers and Acquisition, another was on demand forecasting, another was on ways to increase revenue after bankruptcy, and one was on improving cash flow. Know what differentiates the company from it's competition, why you want to work there, and be ready to give examples of ways to have showcased your skills in the past.

Round 1 - The first 90 questions were character assessment questions where various situations of the workplace were given and we had to choose whether we agreed, disagreed, strongly agreed or strongly disagreed. The remaining 40 questions included general logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude and English questions. Some of the topics asked in LR and Quants were Time and Work, Blood Relations, Seating Arrangements, coding and decoding etc. The questions asked in English were choosing right option, sentence correction, ordering sentences to form paragraphs, tenses etc. Round 2- This was a case study round where there were 10 people in each group and a panel of 3 people of KPMG present. The topic given to us was " How to use technology in the banking sector to innovate ". Round 3 - In this technical interview the panel asked me to explain further on what I had said in the case study discussion. Most questions were on the skills I had mentioned in my CV. He also asked various situational based questions which were a little tricky. The interviewer also asked in detail about the internships I had done and the projects I had done. The interviewer also asked me certain questions about handling team members and questions about what I expected from the job and so on and so forth. The fourth round was an HR interview. This interview was relatively easier and the interviewer asked me about my strengths and weaknesses, hobbies and some general questions about who I am and about my family members. She also asked me about the extra curricular activities I participated in and what volunteering activities I had done. Lastly she asked me my preferred location for work. Fifth round - In this partner round, the KMPG FRM partner asked me about how the process went and if I had any complaints. He then briefed me about the Role and told me about the Nature of the job. He also gave me a briefing of what was expected of me and what I had to do to understand and get a feel of this techno functional job. The panel then asked me about my current and preferred location and finally at the end they congratulated me on getting the job
