Why Goldman Sachs, why controllers, tell me about yourself. The questions were mostly behavioral.
Talking about what happens in China. And what the Chinese government plan.
How would you value a [specific] business?
I was asked to explain derivatives, bond and equity pricing.
Mostly questions about your resume.
No problems here. I did hear other candidates were asked what would they want to know if there were setting up a business in a particular city.
How would you convince a client that their request cannot be met?
You have two investment options: 1)50% debt/50% equity 2)70% debt/30% equity. Which investment option do you choose, i.e. which spread of the two options, and would you invest in the debt or equity. They then explained that you can ask any questions, but this was the only preliminary information that was given. It was clearly an exercise to better understand my thought processes surrounding such decisions.
