Given the number of hours faculty are expected to teach coupled with the very strict and inflexible research program, I found it surprising that this question was asked seriously. It seems that the the US research/teaching balance is unfamiliar to them. They said that most of their faculty managed this easily. However, looking at recent posts on this site, there seems to be a difference in what is expected and what the faculty are willing to undertake.
