One without the other is not potent enough for many situations so I would consider both very important. Training is a prerequisite and experience is comes with time. They cannot be compared or used interchangeably.

In-tray exercise: You are given 6 scenarios and asked to prioritize them. You then explain why would do something first and vice versa. It was a panel interview where one of the interviewers was a colleague!
They are more concerned with finding certified officers, cause they do not want to send anyone to any training or academy. If you can breath air, show up on time, and are a certified law enforcement officer in the State of Arkansas, you will get the job.
