They weren't specific - he asked how I would troubleshoot a Linux system. Basically he asked something that could be handled countless ways but he only wanted to hear specific Linux commands he himself knew of. It sounds like he's the kind of director who would rather be doing the work than trusting an engineer to do it for him.
