Quick call with HR, and then 30 minute interviews with the hiring manager and 4 others on the team. I should have known when reading the reviews here but did my best to look past those and form my own judgement.
I can now say from experience that the people here are cold and cliquey. I had 5 interviews and was not addressed even ONCE by name.
They also seem to breadcrumb their candidates. I was told at every step in the process that I was literally "perfect" for the role, and then received an automated rejection email after a lot of time invested in the process. To be honest, I was relieved because I really couldn't see myself happy in that team. Maybe they sensed it too, so kuddos to them for having that insight.
One more thing that was not really bothersome to me but somewhat disrespectful was having interviews scheduled where the interviewer did not show up because of miscommunication/disorganization with scheduling internally. This seems like more of an HR issue and the hiring manager apologized and worked to have it fixed, but it was just a reflection of the internal chaos.
Overall, the team was unapproachable and sort of unpleasant. I still can't get over the fact that no one addressed me by name throughout the process. I've never had that happen. It was hard to imagine building actual work relationships with them. I should caveat that I tend to like workplaces where people are warm and friendly. Maybe for others, their culture is a good fit, but I just could not see myself there.
