Interview
After applying, received an email to register with CodeSignal and take a General Assessment. Completed said assessment the next day, and the day after that, I received an email saying, "The team has reviewed the results of your submission, and unfortunately, we will not be able to move forward with your application."
Now, this assessment was actually easier than some of the tasks I actually worked on in this exact field for more than a year and a half, so I don't feel I did poorly on it; I'll keep thinking this way so long as there is no assessment score on CodeSignal itself. It's kind of weird to say they've reviewed results of a submission when no assessment results are given.
I don't think I'd be writing this if the score was there, or with more transparency in general. There must have been no nuance, give, or flexibility in the answers (which is not an especially efficient way to fix/train AI)...or some other issue...but it's hard to say, since there are no pending results/no score available for that assessment, and no other explanation. Maybe it's for the best.

Not revealing what was on the assessment; those were the only questions asked.
The interview was conducted by one of their Human Data Team Leads. It was a very pleasant interview. He just asked me about my previous AI Data Training experience and the technicalities about that.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at x.ai (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2025
Interview
In the first round, they gave me an assignment that took hours to complete. There wasn't even a short call or anything before that test.
I completed the test anyway, but I haven't heard from them since.

Question 1
There was no real interview. They made me take a test (probably for training their AI).
