SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design, construction management, and integrity management for pipeline and utilities projects from inception through delivery. This role involves multi-disciplinary project execution (electrical, civil, and mechanical) with a strong focus on the utilities and energy infrastructure sector. The successful candidate will manage internal teams, external contractors, budgets, and project changes to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant project outcomes.
SCOPE
Proficient in several aspects of the industry. Can lead moderate to large sized projects and make decisions and recommendations on technical or complex issues. Exercises considerable judgment and initiative in interpreting policy in the planning and implementation of major work assignments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead electrical engineering efforts for pipeline and utility projects, including power distribution, instrumentation, controls, lighting, grounding, and electrical system integration.
· Manage multi-disciplinary projects involving electrical, civil, and mechanical components from design through construction, commissioning, and integrity management.
· Perform complex electrical engineering tasks, including load calculations, system studies, equipment sizing, and power system analysis.
· Prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, cable schedules, single-line diagrams, and material takeoffs.
· Extract and interpret engineering information from CAD drawings and provide technical guidance to designers, drafters, and junior engineers.
· Develop and review engineering computations, cost estimates, equipment requisitions, and construction documents.
· Review supplier drawings, technical submittals, and perform bid evaluations for electrical equipment and systems.
· Oversee electrical construction activities, commissioning, and startup of pipeline and utility facilities.
· Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards (NEC, NFPA, API, etc.), and safety requirements.
· May serve as the Professional Engineer of Record, providing sealed and signed electrical engineering documents.
· Act as a technical advisor to senior management on electrical and project-related matters.
REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
· 4–8 years of relevant experience in the energy, oil & gas, or process industry.
· Strong background in electrical design for utilities, pipelines, or industrial facilities.
· Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
· Project management and project team leadership experience preferred.
· Proficiency with electrical design software (ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD Electrical, etc.).
· Experience with hazardous area classification, power systems, instrumentation, and control systems is highly desirable.
Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
