Summary:
The Security Operations Manager works under the general guidance and direction of the Corporate Security Director. The Security Operations Manager plans, directs and coordinates the operative duties associated with all physical security functions, to include the Emergency Dispatch Center.
Responsibilities:
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Perform s all duties of a Security Officer I, II, III, Sergeant, and Lieutenant.
Assist with the development, and direct the implementation, of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for the Department to ensure that state and federal laws and ANTHC policies are enforced, public peace and safety is maintained, and to ensure maximum effective application of security services.
Provide leadership for Security operations. Understands current and long-range ANTHC Corporate plans and formulates strategies and action plans to achieve the goals of the organization. Determine Security department objectives, set priorities, and anticipate potential threats and opportunities. Meet objectives and assures the efficient operations and sound fiscal practices required to meet objectives through effective planning, staff management, and resource allocation.
Selects, trains, supervises, evaluates and schedules the work of employees in accordance with ANTHC policies. Meets regularly with subordinate supervisors to give assignments and advise employees on policy changes and coming events.
In partnership with the Corporate Security Director and ANTHC Security Investigator investigates and responds to complaints regarding the Department and/or employee conduct. Participates in internal investigations, working closely with the Director, Investigator, or other personnel.
Maintains records and prepares reports. Maintains strict confidentiality of privileged communications and information and assures Department’s compliance with privacy laws, policies and regulations.
Oversees daily security service operations; maintains security officer shift schedule and on-going training schedule. Attends meetings and perform shift inspections, periodically or as requested by the Corporate Security Director, often at hours outside the normal work hours.
Provides leadership, direction and guidance to assigned staff. Develops goals, priorities, and assigns tasks and projects. Develops staff skills and training plans. Counsels, trains and coaches staff. Implements corrective actions and conducts performance evaluations. Advises subordinates and directs Security programs to coordinate problem resolution. Effectively addresses personnel issues in order to promote a productive and healthy work environment.
Improves leadership and employee performance by proactively identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating and implementing solutions, coaching and counseling employees, and deploying employee engagement interventions. Equips department leads with appropriate tools to effectively manage their people in-line with ANTHC Behavior Standards using performance management, succession planning, goal setting, and career paths.
Supervises alarm and surveillance systems. Maintains records of security incidents, and prepares periodic reports. Plans and facilitates staff training and development. Assures compliance with all security procedures, safety rules and regulations. Implements emergency procedures as required.
Directs Security operations and monitors program results. Assists with developing and administering departmental budget and provides current and forecasted information and supportive data with respect to material, salaries, equipment and operational changes. Investigates and justifies significant variances.
Monitors and reviews Security trends, advocates for resources, and recommends operational improvements. Responsible for the development of industry standard targets and measures to assure appropriate departmental productivity, quality and customer relationships. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditations. Develops solutions to address coordination, alignment, and integration of security services.
Attends and participates in professional training and attends conferences and meetings related to healthcare security to keep current with respect to new trends and developments in the field of public safety.
Participates in emergency management and safety committees within ANTHC/ANMC. Coordinates with ANMC/ANTHC departments during city wide disaster drills. Develops educational programs to enhance awareness of local crime and safety. Makes professional presentations to executive management, customers, and the general public.
Assists with site investigations when Human Resources, Risk Management and/or outside law enforcement are involved. Responsible for control room crisis management, and emergency response. Provides security related training for ANMC staff. Analyzes existing security systems/programs and makes recommendations for improvement.
Implements emergency procedures as required. Responds to medical emergencies, alarms and other security related occurrences; coordinates with police and fire department as required.
Assists subordinates in performance of duties; reviews cases with subordinates as appropriate, and provides guidance and direction. Performs the work of a Security Officer, Sergeant, or Lieutenant as needed.
Performs interviews and determines selections for hiring of top talent while maintaining fair and equitable hiring practices.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, police administration, or related field. Progressively responsible professional work-related experience, can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for Bachelor’s degree.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
Non-supervisory – Five (5) years of progressively responsible law enforcement, military, or security operations.
AND
Supervisory – Three (3) years of management experience.
MINIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION
Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license. Must meet insurance standards and maintain insurability under ANTHC’s insurance program. If personal automobile is used for ANTHC business, proof of automobile insurance at statutory limits must be provided.
Current Basic Life Support card required
FEMA Incident Command System Training ICS-100 & 200 certificate of completion within 30 days of entry into position.
FEMA Incident Command System Training ICS-700 & 800 certificate of completion within 60 days of entry into position.
International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security ( IAHSS) Supervisor Security Officer Certification within 90 days of entry into position.
PREFERRED EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
Master’s Degree in criminal justice, police administration, or related field.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
Non-supervisory – Seven (7) years of law enforcement, military, or security operations.
AND
Supervisory – Five (5) years of management experience.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION
ASIS International – Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI)
