Amada Senior Care is a company started by a caregiver.

Tafa Jefferson, CEO of Amada Senior Care, has a deeply personal connection to caregiving. Inspired by his mother’s lifelong dedication to caring for seniors, Tafa became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the 1990s, supporting older adults living with dementia and other age-related challenges. Through that experience, he discovered the profound impact compassionate care can have on aging adults and their families. In 1998, he founded his own company and grew it to become Amada Senior Care Franchise Inc., a network of individually owned senior care agencies with more than 300 locations in 45 states.

At Amada Senior Care, we believe caregiving is more than a job. It’s an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day. On October 28, 2023, as part of its national conference in Nashville, Tenn., Amada recognized the six Value Awards recipients who embody our “6Cs” representing Compassion, Competence, Communication, Commitment, Confidently Humble, and Comforting. “Caregivers are the lifeblood of everything we do,” says CEO Tafa Jefferson, who founded Amada after working as a caregiver and earning a Certified Nursing Assistant license.
