We specialise in high performance computer and our mission is two-fold: to provide infrastructure and supercomputing services to Spanish and European scientists and to generate knowledge and technology to transfer to business and society. Based on the conviction that scientific computint is the third pillar of science, BSC was created to research, develop and manage technology to aid scientific progress.
BSC is the national supercomputing centre in Spain. As a research centre we have more than 300 experts and R&D professionals organized into four main areas: Computer sciences, Life sciences, Earth sciences and Computer applications in science and engineering. As a service centre we have several supercomputers and high-capacity data respositories. The MareNostrum supercomputer is the centre's emblem.
