Goodwill of Greater Washington is an approved non-profit charitable 501(c)(3) organization (Federal Tax ID: 53-0196588). Our mission is to transform lives and communities through the power of education and employment. We fund that mission primarily through diverse lines of business including a chain of retail stores, custodial services, pest control and grounds maintenance operations. We also generate revenue through individual, foundation, and corporate giving. The Goodwill Excel Center is a unique, tuition-free adult charter high school that awards industry-recognized certifications and high school diplomas, not GEDs, to adult learners in the District. Friendship Public Charter School

As the nation's first multi-campus charter school, Friendship Public Charter School has been graduating college-ready students for over 15 years. From preschool through 12th grade, Friendship invests in providing a rigorous academic curriculum that enables our students to excel as ethical, literate, and well-rounded leaders in a 21st century economy. We lead schools across the District in public education with a 91% graduation and college entrance rate. To this end, we also hold the quality, success, and development of our teachers with paramount importance. We provide a number of professional growth and development opportunities throughout the year, which has yielded both the 2010 and 2011 DC Teachers of the Year, in addition to outstanding school principals and leaders who launched their careers in our classrooms. Friendship PCS operates six public charter schools in Washington, DC and, in partnership with Baltimore City Public Schools, manages four schools, serving 8,000 students.

Ivymount

Ivymount operates the following supported nonprofit organizations: Ivymount School, Maddux School, and Ivymount Outreach Programs. Ivymount School is a non-public special education school that integrates academic, social and pragmatic skills programming in classrooms with low student/teacher ratios. The school currently serves over 200 students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and related disabilities. Maddux School is a developmentally-based, early childhood/primary program for pre-school through second grade students. The school’s unique trans-disciplinary model combines creative approaches with traditional early childhood education. Ivymount Outreach Programs share the expertise of the Ivymount and Maddux Schools with the greater community. Highly trained staff provide services to individuals, families and professionals, including recreational, educational, and therapeutic programs, as well as, training and consultation on a variety of topics in the field of special education.
