Description In 1934, Harnischfeger Corporation employees in West Milwaukee, WI established a credit union in order to improve the economic and social conditions for their co-workers. In 1986, GCU became a community credit union serving people living or working in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties.
Today, GCU serves over 35,000 members with assets of $300 million. Membership eligibility includes anyone living or working in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee, Racine, Kenosha, or Walworth counties. Members turn to Guardian as a premier resource for auto loans, mortgages, and savings options.
