Mission Guardian Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative, dedicated to being the member's primary financial institution by providing superior, comprehensive, courteous, and prompt service.
Description In 1934, Harnischfeger Corporation employees in West Milwaukee, WI established a credit union in order to improve the economic and social conditions for their co-workers. In 1986, GCU became a community credit union serving people living or working in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties.

Today, GCU serves over 35,000 members with assets of $300 million. Membership eligibility includes anyone living or working in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee, Racine, Kenosha, or Walworth counties. Members turn to Guardian as a premier resource for auto loans, mortgages, and savings options.

GCU prides itself on being a people first institution, where our members and employees are our first priority.

Since 2019 GCU has been recognized a Top Workplace by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for 6 consecutive years, which is an honor based on employees’ ratings on: connection to the company; alignment in direction and values; effectiveness; management and leadership; and essentials such as pay, training, flexibility and benefits.
