Alfred Kärcher, like Robert Bosch, Gottlieb Daimler and Graf Zeppelin, was one of the inventors and entrepreneurs that Württemberg produced in such great number since the beginning of the industrial era. With the utmost commitment, he dedicated himself to bringing his ideas to fruition. In 1924, the then 23-year-old completed his studies at the Technical University of Stuttgart and worked first of all at his father's agency, which he developed into an engineer's office. In 1935 he founded his own company in Bad Cannstatt, Stuttgart so that he could produce and market his own products in the field of heating technology. Alfred Kärcher designed and built the "Kärcher salt bath furnace", among other products, for tempering steel and light metal in industry according to his own patent.

In 1939, the family-owned company relocated to Winnenden, where it still has its headquarters. By this time the company was also producing heating devices for aircraft engines and cabin heating systems. Following the Second World War, the company turned its attention to products for urgent, everyday use: round stoves, small cookers, handcarts and trailers for tractors.

Kärcher Culture Fayetteville organized a food drive for the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank in honor of National Food Bank Day. On September 6, 2024, volunteers from Kärcher Culture Fayetteville packed 716 boxes at the NWA Food Bank, which will provide an estimated 10,310 meals to 110 food centers in the quad county area. Employees donated over 220 canned meats, 50 jars of peanut butter as well as cash and paper goods. Those who donated beyond a recommended amount were entered into a raffle for baseball tickets. In addition to employee can donations, $550 was collected, enabling the purchase of an additional 389 lbs of food and paper goods....Show more

Kärcher North America proudly supports and empowers the LGBTQ+ community. On June 22nd, 45 employees and their guests gathered at the Colorado State Capitol Building for the 2024 Denver Pride 5K. Some ran the full 3.1 miles while others enjoyed a leisurely stroll through Cheesman Park for a morning of camaraderie and celebration. To make a more lasting impact, employees raised funds for the Center on Colfax, a safe and welcoming facility for Colorado's proud and diverse LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, our ongoing Kärcher Steps Challenge during Pride Weekend encouraged health and wellness while fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture. We’re thrilled to share the incredible success of our recent employee car wash event, where over 40 dedicated team members volunteered their time to wash an impressive 65 cars. But that’s not all – our team’s generosity knows no bounds, as we also collected a remarkable 506 food items for the “Hope Starts Here” Food Bank. They feed over 200 families every other week and have around 30 volunteers distributing food. The Kärcher family is not just about innovation and excellence in our products, but also about making a positive impact in our communities. This event truly reflects our commitment to giving back and supporting those in need. We’re proud of our employees for their hard work, dedication, and unwavering spirit of generosity.
